This is a cutaway of an Exciter. This fits onto the end of an electric generator and excites the fields slightly to greatly increase their power generation.
The client wanted a classic cutaway to point out the important structural and functional features of his machine.
This 3-D model was built using only flat blue prints. One of the most important features of building solids in the computer is how easy it is to fine tune things.
